im interested in buying some type r seats, and what needs to be done in order for them to fit in a ek hb?

I've seen at least 2 sets for sale here in the last couple of days. Do a search. As for making them fit in an EK, all you need to do is swap your stock seat rails over to the ITR seats. Easy as pie.
