97 crv timing belt broke
I was driving to work last week and the engine just quit, dead. Towed it to the garage where I had timing belt replaced last year. He doesn't want to work on it, thinks there may be bent vavles or worse, so I towed it home. Pulled valve cover off, saw broken timing belt. Don't want to pull head to look for bent valves etc, how can I tell if the is bent/broken valves, a compression test? I have upper timing belt cover, left front wheel and inner fender off. Where do I go next, harmonic balancer? Motor mount?
Thanks

A leakdown test would be a better choise.

my timming belt broke but fixed it in 4 hours. if you have questiones. asked me i can help. the hardest part is cover and pulley. the best way to get pulley bolt is to take of flywheell inspect cover of and use big screw driver to hold crank main. for automatic. then you can get to cover bolts. losen tentioner for tb. its 14mm dont take alway out. put cams with up mark you can tell when there in position rock them a little you will feel it. then crank has a mark on it take number one spark out to find TDC the you know you have all marks in place. put valve cover on and intake box on before start. good luck.
