I tried searching for this answer on NHRA sport compact website and on here but I can not find the answer. For the upcomming July 14,15th event in Vegas at what time do the Gates open and racing start on Friday???? I have to ask for my vacation time at work way in advance and I am trying to figure out if should just work half day on Friday or just take the full day off. Thanks Guys and Fine ladies

Bottom line....take the day off and get out there and get to the track to get your pit spot, tech, and get ready to run. Last year I believed the gate to be open in the late morning and tech started early afternoon.
iut was staed on the site not sure why i would like to know to but i already put in for my time off leaveing thursday afternoon
Ill be leaving the morning of the event, I think that the gates open at 5 since its a night event . you cant go wrong when it come to vegas. Any time is a good time
so racing will mostly be at night then . so if i leave on thursday what time will i be able to get in if im racing? so i can set up thanks

I would just leave thurday like you said, so you'll won't have to rush to get there. its a 8-9 hr drive for you depending on traffic. You'll have a choice of Pit spot even if you show up late, parking lot is huge. keep in mind the car jackers will be out in force also so be careful

Oh yeah this worries me too since I will be trailering my ITR and this mother fawker is a theft magnet. What do most of you guys do with your trailerd cars overnight? Just park it at the hotel/casino overnight and cross your fingers its still there in the morning?

NO!!
do not do this.
parking garages and huge lots are the easiest place for them to take it.
i would park it at the track,
if your not sleeping at the track (like in a RV or similar) im not really sure what to tell you
i would offer my garage up, but itll be full, and the shop garage is filling up quick.
cant wait for this event

Leave it at the track, We will have at least 5 to 10 other cars there and jerry is mostlikely sleeping at the track in the toyhauler, we will all leave our cars there, it will be safe.
if you can leave it with someone that is stayin at the track, that would deff be the best bet.
i didnt believe how bad the thieves are here, until a friends car was stolen.
it was in the driveway with a blown motor, and they still got it
just tryin to warn people before it happens to anyone else.
if you need anymore info, feel free to pm me, ill help where i can.

man he got lucky....depressing that a person has to steal a car they cant build themselves with hard work.
sounds like leaving it at the track is a good idea. i always keep all the fuel curves at 500rpm on my sem so it wont start....plus other kill switches.
