Okay, the TSX k24 motor redlines 7k (or i guess 7100)
So my question is, if you put a k20z3 head on the k24 bottom end... what ECU would you use and what redline would you want?
I'm talkin if you just did a straight swap of the bottom end with the head and k20z3 tranny and left the motor stock.
reason for the k20z3 head would be for the use of DBW
if anyone can elaborate more that'd be great too

of course! i have a gut feeling that nothing will EVER become of the R18, plus the k-series is a better platform anyway

right, but thats a complete k24 long block.. i'm talkin about using the k24 bottom end with a k20z3 head
I would assume you would use the redline from a TSX.. but i'm posting because i'm asking and i dont know lol

i agree with that
my question now is.. will the stock k24 be able to handle a higher redline than whats from the factory?

who cares if the motor can handle the higher redline......the real question is at what rpm the cams don't make anymore power.......revving to a million rpms won't do **** if the cams don't make power past a certain rpm
I personally wouldn't even bother swapping the heads.
The TSX head is good enough.
As far as revving, I wouldn't go past 7500 RPM. I've heard bad things about K-series rod bearings.

if you weren't to swap the heads... would DBW work on the TSX head?

HHMM. . . I wonder why Hasports converted their TSX swap to cable? Maybe because the SC they used was for an RSX-S (which isn't DBW)

the tsx motors make torque down low.
say 8800 rpms on a k20a2 engine, is nearly the same speed as how the tsx is working at its peak rpms.
I take my tsx to about 7600 rpms without any problems. They are not high reving motors, because of there stroke. They make all the power down low. So it’s much better for a daily driver.
As for the rev limiter it should be set around where 7600. The important is getting tuned.
hondata.com they give you the details. might as well start planning ur k series motor plans now
when your warranty goes out bam.

Hondata doesn't support the new Honda DBW system quite yet.

I think they have a flash for the tsx DBW now. Flash only works in the TSX CAR!! I am sure the wiring is pain in the *** if ur planning to run it. Keeping the throttle cable system is a better system much less hassle.
I have no idea how the gauges are controlled in the new cars but they have another system that runs the ac and warning gauges. So time will tell hopefully everything gets worked out soon..
