Weather started out well on Friday, but mid-day it started to rain and that kinda ruined it for the rest of Friday.
Today was AWESOME race weather, couldn't have asked for better. I guess people are gonna start posting their times, but iirc the fastest H4 car posted a 1:47.4 and thats all I can remember lol.

The email sent to the participants said there was going to be wireless at the track, but that appears to have been some misinformation as on Friday when we were trying to track the storm coming in, we tried to use it --> password protected. We also tried one of the LAN lines in the garages --> nothing. So that may be why there is a shortage of reports.
I didn't think Friday was that bad. It only rained on the last rotation of sessions (4 sessions per day for all the HPDE groups).
I didn't watch or see the results for the HC race. I'll try and pick up a copy today.

Remember that's a "junkyard" motor in his car

Just wait till you hear the stories about the start of the afternoon race today. I won't spoil it as I'm sure those who were in it will have a much better description.
Teaser: They "tried" to start 3 seperate groups in the same race group, starting with HC in a standing start.

just saw something on the other site, and this doesn't seem to have anything to do with a the standing starts.

Not from a standing start, just from a messed up situation in getting the entire race group started.
HC was mixed w/ PT & others as well as Spec Miata in a 55 car total field run group (I believe this is the largest number of cars allowed on track at Mid Ohio at one time).
HC does a standing start - goes off fine w/ no issues.
PT & others do a rolling start after HC clears and there are no issues here as well.
SM is a little slow coming to take the green (not sure why, they were being led by a pace car) and by the time the are there to take the green the H1 leaders are at the back of the SM grid that is still at pace lap speed. Because SM had not taken the green flag at start yet there was still a double yellow out at T11 (Chad actually saw double yellows at the bottom of the esses as well as under the bridge at nine as well and his video showed this as well). Now the leaders check up so as not to take out the back of the SM field, someone gets into the back of the red S2000 coming over 11 (may not have seen double yellows) and spins him into the concrete.
I was there and was watching from the stands at the exit of T1 so I didn't see any of this take place, this was just my rendition of what happenned after being told several peoples takes from their in car vantage points.
I'm just happy the driver is fine, saw him in the paddock afterwards. Still hate to see the car in that shape, though.
Regards,
Sam

It was Colin Bota (sp?) in the white CRX that place first in H4 on Saturday, but Clifton Ching in the yellow/blue EF that placed first today in H4. Our silver EJ got third (I think) in H4 in this afternoon's race after being plagued with mechanical gremlins the entire weekend, so we were pretty happy with that as well.
Chad did OK too

I believe that Andrew finished 3rd both days behind Colin and Clifton. Trev didn't make it on Saturday and finished 6th on Sunday after going off in the esses. He was able to continue but couldn't catch back up. The results for Sundays race are still not released as there was contact between Colin Botha and Kevin Helms in the chicane and there is a potential that Colin could be DQed.
Sam, who is waiting on results w/ everyone else.
