if anyone has all red taillights on their CRX, please let me know how its done

buy some red translucent paint. Clean well with some soap and water, then rubbing alcohol. Then paint them and they should come out nice. Good luck

 

Translucent spraypaint, you can get it at hobby or craft shop....some 'ricy' import shops carry it too.

 

Just make sure to take your time and apply separate thin coats. That way it the paint wont go on too thick and u get no drips

paint the outside? how many coats should i apply? paint the whole taillight, or just the orange parts?

Now there's a good use for those silly all-clear taillights! If they make an amber paint, pseudo-Vision amber front corners would be a possibility as well...hmmm

should i scrape off the "CRX" decal off of the back of the stock taillights before painting?

 

yes it will.

 

if you scrape off the CRX sticker, go easy on the plastic because it will scratch really easy. get some type of heater and put taillight in front of heater so it will warm the glue and make sure you dont burn anything so keep a bottle of water or something to wet the sticker while you heat it up and after 5 min of heat take a razor and scrape off, clean glue off of taillight and put back on car.

 

Take the sticker off.

 

Paint the whole taillight for it to be even. If u want u could paint the CRX logo and it will come out darker red and stand out. It looks pretty good, but just take off the logo

 

If you don't want 'em, I'd love a set! Just tell me what I need to do...

of my all red taillights? that was from 97 bro... i dont think any website stayed alive since then that hosted my car pics.

 

Just go buy some 3M adhesive remover, it works wonders. My friend took the pinstripes off his 97 civic with it and after a wash and wax you couldn't tell it was ever there.
