Default Few questions from a performance oriented future RSX-S owner.

Hi everbody! Well I have been lurking for some time on here, mostly in the Si forum, but I can't deny my true feelings for the RSX. I'm out of the country right now, but I soon plan on coming home and picking up a new or preowned RSX-S. I plan on getting the newer style either an '05 or an '06.

Now I know there were some slight design changes to these, as well as changes to the motor and computer. I would like to get my RSX hopped up a bit and I have a few questions I was wondering some of you might be able to help me with. Does anyone know the extent of the chages to the driveline on these between the 02-04 and the 05-06? More importantly does anyone know where to find performance parts for the 05-06 models?

I have scowered everywhere I can think of. But I don't have a lot of knowledge in these things as I am a previous F-body owner. But after the reliability issues I have had with my Trans Am I have sworn off all domestic vehicles. Also I tried searching on here but the search engine seems to be....... well I just couldn't find anything about wether or not Jackson Racing or Comptech was going to produce a supercharger for these cars. I would assume they would but a little bit more information would be greatly appreciated.

Also when it comes to shopping for parts does anyone know the cheapest place I can find the A-Spec, I think that's the name, body kit from Acura?

These may seem like newbish questions and they are, but if anyone has any questions about Camaros/ Trans Ams, I could talk for hours. It's just time for me to get something more fun, affordable, reliable, and doesn't want to put you in the wall while turning no matter how fast you are going.

Sorry for the speach, I'll get down off my soap box now, LOL. If you can answer any of these questions or help in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

Oh wait I have 2 more quick questions, does anyone recommend or know of a walkthrough for installing 4 point harnesses in an RSX without the use of a rollcage, I've never had any and I think I would like some.

And in the f-body world we had a website where you could listen to exhaust videos before purchasing your setup, is there anything like that for the RSX? Or can anyone recommend a real deep throaty sounding exhaust? I don't like the bumble bee sound of some straight through designs.

Thanks again for all the help, I'm gonna go burn that soap box now!

***Now with paragraphical goodness***

You would probably get more replies if you used a paragraph or two. Honestly, your question(s) is too hard to read.

ok just from scanning here are a couple things I picked out to answer:

Differences between the 02-04 and 05-06 in terms of drive is the newer accelerates faster with a closer gearing, it also has more ponies under the hood, nothing you can't get on the older K20a2, but nice to have the slight edge.

A-Spec parts are normally cheapest on eBay/Yahoo stores being sold by Acura/Honda dealers nationwide, just have to search around.

4-point harness is beyond me without a roll cage, think you install something into the floor behind the seat or onto the bottom rear of seat (which can't be safe).

ClubRSX forums has some great forums where people post sound clips of exhausts. If you are considering the RSX, I would most definatly check out that site as it is the worlds best resource for DC5 owners.

The new RSX is nice, I love my 03 to death. But also look into the new Si. Cheaper insurance, same price range, and you get more for your money, like LSD and more options out the door. It doesn't look as nice in my opinion, but its still a awesome platform.

Good luck!

I think I read somewhere that there is a prototype for a supercharger for the 05 06 rsx's. It was on a forum somewhere, someone had the first '05 supercharged Type S who was the guinea pig for either JR or Comptech for creating a production carb legal supercharger for these cars. It was an old thread, I found it while searching for something else.

If it's not on H-T, then it should be on ClubRSX. There's a small possibility that it is on RSXzone, because I check there randomly, but not as much as I check the first two.

Good luck with your car! If you list exactly what you want to change on your car, you may get more responses on where to find parts.

Default 05 + SC RSX

Yes you can SC an 05+ i've seen both Jackson and Comptech blowers in 05's. Though they aren't producing them. What people are doing is getting the kit for the 02-04 typeS and doing some modifications so it will fit. If you need more info id recommend contacting:

JRSC - mateo @ clubrsx
CTSC - stevenc @ clubrsx

both have put or helped install the 02-04 SC in 05+ RSX's and more importantly both are EXTREMELY knowledgeable.
