TSX Rims on my LX
I have an 06 LX coupe and I saw pics posted of an SI with TSX rims. I have always liked the rims and I am wondering if this is possible.
I know nothing about lug patterns, are they the same? Will TSX rims and the necessary tires even fit?
What do I need to know about trying to do this?

Any new five bolt Civic is going to be 5x114.3, just like the TSX.
If you are getting regular TSX wheels that are 17x7 and +55 or +45 offset, you should be fine.
The only five bolt Honda wheels that are different are the recentl 5x120 wheels on the Legend and RL cars with inflation monitoring.

even though you have a non-si - the rims will fit just fine
TSX rims are esentially the same 'spec' as 06 Si rims.. 17x7.5 with 215/45/17 tires

That's right. I think they fit the look of the car. I was never a fan of the stock wheels. Plus, I'm working on getting a TSX headlight retro, so I'll have my own version of a hybrid car started.

thats it.
i want to get a set to put on my TL S but i also like the TL S stock wheels even those they are .5 in narrow than the TSX rims.
also stock civic susp on the 06 have a low stance to begin with which makes them look lowered and i like that.

What about road noise. I think we can all admit Honda hasn't completely gotten rid of the road noise of the civic. Will TSX rims and tires pronounce the road noise even more? Are there tires in this size that all know to be great with the road noise?
I have always been a fan of the tsx rims. They are not flashy and they always have looked larger than 17 inches. The spokes of the design stretch all the way to the edge of the wheel, which always seems to be a sure bet for the largest looking rims possible from a design.

how different will road noise be? Any ideas? Any well known tires that reduce the road noise of these civics in this size? Are all-weather, summer, or winter better for road noise?

Think about it.. road noise is from tread. So snows are going to be very loud... all weathers in the middle and summers/performance would be the least noisy.

I'm running on the PE2's- Summer Tires- that come on the Si as an option. They're not noisy at all. And they stick real well. I had the all-seasons on there, but they're worthless in San Diego county.

Road noise is usually generated by large, blocky tread designs and thick grooves. I.E., Performance Summer tires with very few grooves, like Azenis' or A032s, create more noise. More "grooves", like an all-season, usually make for less noise.
Both the TSX and Civic Si are available with all-season tires, usually "summer" tires are an option (at least on the Si, not sure on the TSX). I doubt TSX all-seaons would be any noisier than your LX's all-seasons.

Personally, I would replace the tires if you bought them with the TSX rims. TSX wheels are taller than Civic wheels (215/50 as opposed to 215/45), so it'd look kind of funny too.
