GSR WILL NOT START...RAN OUT OF IDEAS
ok i just built my gsr motor for turbo. built block with my gsr head. i put it in and it ran fine for 347 miles with no problem. one day im gettin in my car for work n my car starts n sounds like its on 3 cyl. n then dies. the day before i just put in new MSD wires but it ran fine. now the car will not even turn on...just cranks n cranks.
My timming is good, i have brand new spark plugs and wires, i bought a whole new distributor n still dont start. my fuel pump is turning and and my main relay is good as is al my fuses. My injectors are getting NO PULSE. but they are gettin voltage.
i dont know what else it could be...possibly a bad ECU? its a turbo car n ran mint after the build for the 4 days i had it, and then out of nowhere it wont start.
any solutions?

is it cranking? if it is, I would do a compression test. this will tell you if you're getting air. check the plugs for spark. I know you said you bought a whole new dizzy, but just in case your new one is bad.
can you hear the fuel pump click on when you turn your ignition to the 2nd position (right before it will make it crank)?

when an engine doesnt start. its either not getting fuel, spark or compression. or any combination of those 3 things.
make sure everything is grounded and no ground wires fell or anything.

i dont have msd, jus the ignition wires, and yes my compression is good, i have spark n my fuel pump is turning on...just the injectors are not firing. and my relay is good 2. i dont kno wat else it could b. im tryin a new ECU 2nite n see wat happens. other than that i think it could come down to a broken wire somewhere
checked all grounds, and they are all good...i sanded down each contract n put them back n still just cranks. wont turn over. and if it does turn over sounds like a subaru motor, runnin on like 2 cyl or something n then it dies

And you helped how?
What he said was more like an "if statement" if it does then check this or this.
I'm sure he Read it, but worded it in that way anyways, so how about gtfo?
The MSD wires, aren't they setup differently to work with a special MSD cap,
Or are they just a version of oem ones with extra "stuff" done to them?
Did you try taking an injector out to see if it sprays at all, or maybe even the FPR?

havent taken out the injectos because they arent getting any pulse which means they arent spraying right? also the msd wires can b used with stock dizzy and no cap or nothing. also how can i check the FPR?
FPR, being the fuel pressure regulator, which is that thing on the end of the fuel rail,
If you unbolt that, you can atleast see if the fuel gets as far as your rail then.

Yeah, you can do it for a second to see if any comes out,
it's better to have a 2nd person though so you can have a better view.
Only two small bolts for the FPR also, and atleast then you'll Know you have fuel that far.

any way u think it could jus b my ecu? i have a p72 chipped with chrome and its tuned. im gona put that chip in my bros p28 2nite n see if it runs. if it does its my ecu then? right?
I had the same thing happen and it was bad gas...it destroyed my injectors. I had someone start the car for me while I sprayed carb cleaner in it to keep it running (this will also tell you if it is ignition) with a noid light on the injector connector to check pulse. If you do not have pulse and you have a good ignition signal, probably wiring or ECU issue. Hope this helps.
The only time I heard a honda sound like a subaru was when a guy's car had to start on stock map but had 450 injectors installed. Since you have access to another ecu, I would try that... good luck.
pull off a vaccum line going into the plenum, get a long piece of vaccum line, attach it to the port you disconnected, spray into the vaccum line you attached to the plenum and spray some in first. have a friend crank the car (not hitting the gas) and if/when it fires keep spraying the carb cleaner in. It should run if the plugs are firing correctly. If you have the noid light attached to the injector connector and it flashes with RPM's, you have bad injectors or a fuel pressure/quality issue. I would also disconnect a fuel line and run some fuel into a glass container to look at it and see if there is any water/contaminant in it. Good luck!
ok i will try that. i just put in a p28 ecu with my chip n it didnt work. then i installed a different chip with my stock map sensor b.c i am using a gm 3 bar and the new chip with my stock map still dont work. so its not an ecu issue or a bad chip or bad map sensor. gota b a wiring issue. loose or broken wire somehwhere?
your fuel pressure should be 38-42 as soon as you power up the pump. If it is at 5 psi, you have a bad pump or a big clog somewhere or a bad regulator. the car wont run on 5psi
beleive it or not i jus change my walbro 255 i had put in on monday to my original pump n it worked. this is the 2nd time i bought a walbro 255 fuel pump n it didnt work. F**K WALBRO
