Default 20mpg :(

Okay I can't deal with this anymore with the way gas prices are rocketing up (3.25 a ******* gallon!!!)

I think it has to do with my ECU. It's the phearable.net ECU that has a custom basemap for header, cold air, and exhaust. The only of the three I have is the cold air (and dumped exhaust....) so I'm thinking maybe the ECU is getting as much as air as I would if I had those mods, so it's dumping fuel into the motor like mad.

If it's dumping this much fuel in, I could also be flooding the reason hence the reason it takes a second for my car to start up, right?

Can someone shed some light on this? I cant deal with this MPG anymore, its kicking my ***.

This is on a GSR btw.

Get a virgin P72 ECU. Problem solved.

Just replace the ECU with a stock unit, and keep the Chipped for Track days.

Try $3.52/gal of premium. I fill up once a week. Minimum of 8 gallons per fill up.

That's out of the question. I'm having the car tuned in a couple of months and I need Neptune to do so.

CEL comes on every once in awhile for no knock sensor because the ECU blocks it. I can't really check it every single time it comes on, and if I turn the car off the ECU clears it.

sounds pretty similar to the problem i've been having but on a d16y8! i just went obd1 with a virgin p28 and boomslang harness because my obd2 setup was throwing a catalytic con. code. ever since, my car is getting horrible gas mileage, though not throwing any codes and seems to be hesitant on start-up. any clue? like you said, gas is toooooo high for this ****!

i get about 24 MPG in my b16 with a passenger and me normally, your problem may be the same as my friends. He throws an ECT code, the ECT he said regulates the amount of gas that is added based on the temperature so that could be a reason for crappy gas mileage because he doesnt always throw the code but the ECT is still broken so it may just not be throwing the code for you. I'd check the ECT.

You should put gas in my Expedition.

I need a co-signer to fill up.

So tune the car, basemaps and useless except as a startup map for a turbo car so you can limp it to the dyno.

A basemap for a dumped exhaust and a CAI is the same as a stock ECU.

On that note, my car runs 12's on pump gas and gets 28+ mpg city doing Tuning properly is your friend.

Noooo you read it wrong. The basemap is for header, intake, exhaust, intake manifold. My mods are dumped exhaust and intake, hence the reason it's dumping too much fuel for the amount of airflow I'm getting atm.

And my car will be tuned within a month hopefully with booost.

I've got a solution... we can petition the local government for public transportation, which doesn't suck *****.... like the rest of the world does!!! YEAH!!! And then gas prices would nosedive like a lead zepplin because of a %50 demand drop. That's a fact bro.

Burns a little cleaner and cooler, and my car will be boosted very soon so I'm just getting used to having to use 93.

I get horrible gas mileage. But that's because I am throwing codes 61,64.

The code is givin by the "check engine light" in the cluster. Depending on how it will blink is what converts it to a code. Kind of like how your motherboard gives you a code when something is wrong at start up by beeping. Look into the sticky thread to see how to access this and how to read the CEL
