Default LS head gasket or GSR head gasket on a LS VTEC?

I have search but many debates so I am confused? Which head gasket should be used gsr or LS for a LS block and GSr head build...right now I am using a OEM stock 3 layer from the dealer but people say I should use a GSR but if I use a gsr the dowel pins I have won't fit the gsr head gasket in the front of the block; so right now my dowel pins are in the back of the block towards the manifold with the LS head gasket, correct me if I am wrong but if I change to a GSR head gasket I need to get new dowel pins? but I thought dowel pins were universal?

i believe you use a ls head gasket and relocate the o-rings.

look up golden eagles mfg head gasket that is made specifically for the ls/vtec set-ups.

Use the LS gasket. As you noted, it will line up with the existing dowel pins on the block.

i aslo need to know if you are using the GE kit do you have to get the geasket from them or can you just get a oem B16 gasket. cause iv been told you have to run the ge gasket cause they drill out the dowl holes but if i put the gasket on top of each other you can see that they drill out the back dowls and and the ge kit says you need to to use the front ones. so i guess i can just get a oem p30 gasket
