ight, ive researched this on about every honda forum i could find using google. My Honda Accord 90 LX idle goes up and down and it is freaking killing me.

1. it started doing it so so, when the car warmed up it used to stop, so i really wasnt worried about it then.

2. now it does it when ever i take my foot off the gas, it does it soon as the car starts, does it in neatural, kinda stops when its in drive, but when riding and i take my foot off the gas and slowing down it does it, and that kills me.

3. this seems to happen to alot of people that own this brand of car, but i have read over 100 topics and it seems no one has the solution to it.

by the way i changed the idle control value.


also my car virbrates very high, and has lost major, i mean major accelleration, and has a hard time making it up hills.

I had a '91 accord 4 cyl. and had the EXACT SAME problem. Took it to the dealer and turned out that 2 out of the 5 speed sensors were shot. $750.00 later it was running fine. oooooh i miss you Lucille!

 

First burp your cooling system, and check for any vaccuum leaks with carb cleaner. I know you replaced the IACV, but take it back off and clean the screen with carb cleaner. Open the top of the FITV and you will see a white ring. Make sure it is tightened down.
