how do you remove the metal clamps inside an oem gsr exhaust tip?
somebody's gotta know.. there's two inner clamps/holders and they look spot welded in several places. i just couldn't find any help on this. thanks.
thats the only thing holding it to the muffler outlet, but theres also two clamps/holders inside of the tip. the muffler outlet slides thru them.
he's talking about the clamp that slides over and holds onto the muffler's actual tip.
what are you trying to do by removing the clamp?

But airhammer is more fun!

On my muffler I flattened that inside part with a strong but small pipe and a hammer. Once it's flattened you can slide it over the ES muffler tip and it'll be nice and tight and you could bolt it down too if you want. Because if you remove it, it'll be loose and you'll hae to weld it on. Hope that makes sense.

ur right i didn't realize that just the bolt probly wouldn't hold it. what did you do about the front peice though? that's going to restrict exhaust flow. my outlet is 2.5". thanks for the responses.

hmmm thats on you my muffler is 2.25. I don't think it'll restrict it too much.

just so you guys know it can be done... we cut each insert in half and bent them out lol. hard work but a nice result imo. thanks for everyone's input.
