Default ??????'s about pistons ring

i have a 90 crx si with a D16a6 block and a Y8 head. i smokes really bad. and i losing oil so i i figured my rings are bad so i used some restore (it attempts to seal the rings) but it had very little, if any affect. is there any thing that i could do, so i don't have to rip apart the block.

thanks for any help

there isn't much you can do besides rip the motor apart unless you can find another block that is good.

Well i'd give you mine that i have but it has 206,000 miles on it and it did the same thing. that is why i bought my b16. It will cost less to find an another a6 with good piston rings than if you where to rebuild. There are plenty of a6's out there.

I have stock a6 pistons, rods, rings that are in decent shape. Not asking much for them make an offer. They are already removed, just waiting on eagle rods for turbo a6/z6 build.

see there my problem i thought about an ls swap but i just put a in clutch. plus the head is built. yes i get more power out of a b series but i would loss more money because i would be starting over. the bseries would need a clutch, headers the works all over again.

Or you could get new sleeves for close to what you will pay for a bore/hone job.
