Default Im a newbie and need some help taking something off

I just put on my new short ram air intake. The problem is when i toke off the stock one. I still got this plastic ram coming in to the engine bay from the fender wall on the passenger side. I wanna take this part out to increase air flow to the filter. I some how can not figure a way to take this thing off. Can someone with experience please help me.

The part you speak of is connected to the frame with one bolt. All you have to do is remove the passenger-side wheel-well lining in order to get to it. Remove the bolt and you should be good to go.

so its just one simple bolt. Got another question to add to this. Will taking this part off provide the intake short ram with more air.

Not that I can think of. I think keeping the air cool will help more. Get a heat shield. Please correct me if I'm wrong.-ekzrated

Yeah your right a heat sheild would help. Wouldnt I get some increased air flow with out that plastic part being there. There would be more cold air coming from the fender wall. So less heat would get trapped inside of that filter. I was saying take it off because that would make the hole in the frame bigger for more air. Im still a bit confused.

By taking that part off, you will not gain more air going in to intake.
