Default Tech Issue: Fuel Injector Size

I got a tech issue here about injector size, seems most of the people only concerning about the size, I wonder if this apply into “bigger is better” rule. As I have different feedback from peoples and tuners.

Currently I’m running Nissan GTR Injectors in my B18CR, which I find out should be 440cc. first of all I’m not 100% sure its 440cc. when my block is going to overhaul early next month, I’m thinking if I should change it to something else. The block is going to rebuild with B16B pistons.

My fuel supply: Walbro 255HP unit, SARD fuel rail and a SARD fuel regulator.

Engine is running a Set of Toda B, estimate compression after rebuild is about 12.5:1.
ECU: Apexi Power FC written to 9500rpm cutoff (will re-write to 9800 as internal is gonna fully balanced and blueprinted in this rebuild, but really depends on dyno where the peak is).

I’m seriously curious about fuel supply at constant high rpm above 8K (this is a track car). Although it doesn’t seems to be a problem before. But will the GTRs do the job? In ‘Stable’ behavior?

I have people telling me with Power FC, there will be no problem to “be Controlled”, or I’m thinking of some RC 310cc, or S2000’s stock 290cc which might add reliability for my application? (was thinking about SARD - the name of reliablity, but those 317cc's are just outragously expensive)

any inputs? thanks

440s and 255lph pump is more than enough. overkill IMO but will work fine as long as they are tuned correctly. your stock pump would be more than sufficient for that setup.

Fuel injectors loose effective spray after ~80% duty cycle. Some injectors have designs that allow spray pattern to remain constant at high duty cycles (new gen RC's), but for the most part you want to stay under ~80% duty cycle.

With that being said, I am at 52% duty cycle in the WOT columns at 9300rpms with BC5 cams, 12.3:1 compression on a 2.0L B18C. In other words, you should be fine with what you have.

I will be putting in crower 402a cams, crower drivetrain, eagle cam gears and hondata tuning on my JDM ITR. Will I need 310cc injectors for this mild set-up? Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the info, i would guess the current injectors would be more than enough. As in WOT injector duty only at 46% from reading Power FC commander.
