Default 'working' replica parts, yay or nay???

Just a question, working replica parts, that work, like "spoonish" smaller mirrors, "APRish" wings, "Mugenish" front spoilers, "Spoonish" wheels and carbon parts. Yay or nay for road racing? Thinking, you may wreck, using replica parts like these can save you a lot of money. Why spend $400 on smaller mirrors or $700 on a wing when there is one %75 less that does the same thing that you maybe rubbing paint with? Do you think they will work the same and do the same function??

Is it function over bling???

I happen to have replica Spoon wheels and mirrors on my car but in my opinion the real deal stuff will be lighter, stronger and in most cases: track tested. The replica stuff is cheaper but will also weigh more, won't take as much abuse and in most cases: is not tested at all. This can make a huge difference in things like wheels, wings and carbon parts. Probably not so much in mirrors and oil caps and such. I was not at all happy with the Spoon replica mirrors I purchased. They ended up not being anywhere near as usefull as stock mirrors and they are allmost impossible to adjust. I would not recomend them if the car is going to be driven by multiple drivers, as in an endurance race or drivers school.

APR applies theory and basic structural values for strength not actual testing before release, spoon wheels made by desmond, though track used are probably far outstripped by the number of rotas that are also track used and both didnt go to the track first before release but met basic crush standards any wheel has to pass. Spoon mirrors are made by a taiwanese company who's basically like any other large taiwanese company like the ones that make the knockoffs. Lips are a disposable item and while the spoonugenish design looks well thought out the OEM lips are probably a better deal and more durable

I don't agree with using replica parts since it really is theft of the design, R and D, and engineering of the real thing. The copy cat company can sell anything it copies for much less than the original because they can splash a mold off the authentic part which costs much less than the processes needed to create the original. The original piece may have taken a couple of test pieces and finally, when the engineers were happy, a final prototype from which a mold could be made. Then the final piece is made and marketed - all of which costs much more than what it costs some weasel copycat company calling their part "Spoon" or "Mugen" design. It's too bad that the originals cost so much, but unfortunately, the market for these items is relatively small and this reflects a higher price.

Cool, that's why they'll be extruded aluminum so even the copycats can't make them too much cheaper unlike the super costly carbon fiber models. Now, if you send them to China to produce, then I'm in trouble since the Chinese companies make these wings really cheap - as seen in ebay.

The way I see it, the only time it's really necessary to pay for a quality authentic product is when it's something truly funtional (engine, suspension, etc). When it comes to pieces of plastic or sheet metal that hang off the side of my car I could care less if it's been track tested or made from only the JDMest materials.

I like that "You can kiss my ***" artwork and it doesn't need to be translated into any other language either.

I didn't think he was trying to post an actual unauthorized picture, but was actually dramatizing what would happen if he did. On the other hand, he might have actually tried to post an unauthorized photo knowing beforehand that doing so would generate the KMA graphic.
