I just recived my OEM lip from Honda, just to find out that it is very thin and looks to be very fragile ABS plastic as aposed to polyurethane which I thought it was going to be, did I get jipped or is this actually what it is made of? If so, what do you guys do to prevent it from breaking? Thanks.

 

pretty certain mine is the same material as the bumper. what that is, i don't know.

 

Front/rear bumper, lips, side strakes, optional spoilers are all in ABS plastic.

 

if you got it from Honda then i'm pretty sure it's real and you didn't get jipped. the lip is pretty tough as it is, unless you like ramming your car into parking blocks

 

eh. U should've juss saved your money for a polyurethane OEM style lip and pocket about 300 for the paint.

 

youl be ok, unless you hit a curb or drive the wrong way

 

mine has been pretty beaten up on the bottom. lip is still great. it's pretty strong IMO

how much is the style lip?

Honda ones come painted..

 

oem abs is NOT the same as the cheap taiwanese abs they sell in ebay.

those fake abs material is hard as fwak and they break just like most harder plastic under stress. OEM abs have alot of flex and they are very tear resistant, unless you run them over some curb.
