This sword measures approximately 38" overall and features a polished razor sharp 420 J2 stainless steel blade. The tsuba (guard) and pommel are cast metal with an antiqued copper plating and feature intricate metalwork. The tsuba features an elaborate dragon figure. The handle is ABS with a black braided cord wrapping. The scabbard is made of Black aluminum and features an intricate web-like pattern.

Me and my friends have 2 swords in our trunks JUST in case... this one was up on my wall for a month now. This thing is RRRREALLY SHARP! RAZOR SHARP!

Just so you know a "REAL" Japanese sword does not have an ABS or plastic handle. usually it has a sharkskin handle. just FYI

I'm not quite following you, but just for comparison I dont remember the exact cost but authentic Japanese swords, sharksin handle, lacquered wood scabbard) cost 3-4 times than an imitation. (cant remember exactly)

If you want I can call my Dad and see how much he paid for his sword (just for comparison). He bought it when we were living in Japan, in some countyr-side town.

BTW I was just telling you guys how to tell a imitation sword from a real, authentic Japanese Samurai sword.

EDIT: and there is a difference between real and authentic, I have no doubt that his sword is real, and has a sharp blade. But I do doubt its authenticity (plastic handle, aluminum scabbard)...

I have been to a lot of Japanese antique shops that sold swords among other things. One thing I observed is that they would rather sell the sword without the handle (if the sharkskin one was to fall off or something), rather than put on a piece of plastic.

This is a Replica of a Katana. Sorry- I wouldn't be selling a REAL Authentic Katana for $100 bucks. It would be close to $1000.00
