Default What are the signs of a bad fuel pump? Need help ASAP

What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pump?

What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pressure regulator?

What are the symptoms of a leak from the fuel rail/injectors/lines under the hood?

My car has a hard time starting (still) after it has set a while, and it still hasnt fixed anything. Need help ASAP

Do you let the fuel pump prime? How many miles on your fuel pump? Honestly this could be caused by anything from throttle plate stuck closed or no fuel like your thinking.

start simple, listen if the fuel pump turns on(put your head by the rear seat) when you turn the key to ign # 2. If it is, try replacing the fuel filter. Its a quick simple fix and its cheap, a good way to start off. Also, do you park on a hill? And how high do you keep your fuel tank?

Are you saying it has a hard time starting after sitting for a while? If so, it seems to be a common Honda thing. Every civic I've driven starts hard after sitting a few days.

Here is a quick question along the same lines of a possible fuel/fuel pump problem...

Should the amount of fuel in the tank ever have an affect on how well the engine runs/performs? I have this idea that when the tank has too little gas in it, the fuel pressure is lower than it should be and causes problems with the car...

No, the pressure is mechanical from the pump. It's not a gravity feed system, so head from the level in the tank has no effect; as long as the pump has enough fuel to stay primed.

Although, I've noticed the same hard starting problems when fuel is very low.

fuel isnt low. full tank. i crank it and keep craNKING it for like 10 seconds, then it slowing, but surely starts up. its sort of like there is zero fuel pressure when i first try to start it

A new relay would cause it to not prime at all.

How long is the car sitting when it does this? Sounds like when it slows down, that it could be drawing on the battery quite a bit from cranking. How old is the battery?

My car sat for a week once, and it took me damn near two minutes of cranking to get it going.
