I doubt it'll be long before Gliden gets picked up by someone. But talk about a compliment to Carlson. I can picture Don Schumacher saying, "hmm I need to make a change to the team. I could get rid of the rookie. Nah, lets get rid of Gliden." Wow!

Wow, it almost seems like they are building the team around the drivers which is good... usualy they change drivers till they find one that works well with the team they have...

I'll tell you, i was very excited to see Shaun qualify last week, even tho it was 12th, he still qualified...

If 1person on the team likes to cause drama and has no effort in doing anything for the team, and they see potential in the new driver to do well, I would too get rid of the person causing drama no matter what kind of legend he is. Drama and not willing to cooperate will cause a great team to fall apart.

i definitely think there was a gliden issue with Carlson, and Rusty right from the get go when shoe racing picked Carlson over the bent-out-of-shape rusty....

we got 4 consecutive races Carlson did not qualify, then Vegas where it all started Carlson is in the game and if you saw the show the car was not setup right, the wheelie bars were loading the car to the right the last 2 passes, that means some one was fooling around with that..... that just flat out sucks.... glidden best to you but i think we all know now what was really wrong with that team.... bitterness that the kid didnt get the spot over the sport compact guru... go get gim carlson!!! i got your back !!!

P.S. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET IN AND SHOW THEM WHAT YOU CAN REALLY DO WHEN THINGS ARE RIGHT, GOOD LUCK IN BRISTOL, ILL BE WATCHING

Lets hope so, maybe this new crew chief can help Carlson's teammate out also. He has had a somewhat less than par season so far also.

Only one dodge in the top 10 in points, and its not from DSR.

I know everyone is quick to point the finger at Glidden, but the fact is none of the Dodges are performing well come elimination time.

What did Glidden do last season? I don't recall seeing Jeg's on the side of the car this year, apparently this isnt' the first time someone hasn't been impressed with him as a crew chief.

I got an interesting email yesterday. Not saying who it is.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Art,
Having done work for the Gliddens...I can tell you that I really seriously doubt that there's anyone out there that'll hire him....
When Ford dumped him in the early 90's, nobody'd have anything to do with him. Bob had and has a habit of using people for all they're worth, and then shitting on them. He did that to every sponsor he had back in the day, and people haven't forgotten it. Schumacher remembered Bob and is admirable competition record from the good old days, but having left the drag racing scene in the mid-70's....and never having dealt with Glidden directly, he never experienced any of Bob's BS....and therefore he hired him.
In the last three years, Glidden has worked for Larry Morgan who idolized him.....and then fired him because nobody could work with him, Jeg Coughlin (Bob worked for Jeg twice for a total of 5 days), and Schumacher.
I think everyone's finally figured out that Bob hasn't been able to hit his *** (with both hands) since 1990, and that he's a real **** to work with. Bob operated best in the 80's when a few of us (Gateway Race Cars included) were bending over backward to help him. He finally bankrupted Gateway, and there was never a part he bought from us that he and his ex-wife Etta didn't try to get out of paying for.
I've restrained myself from ever posting all the crap I went through with Glidden, but if you have a few hours, I'll lay it all on you sometime....</TD></TR></TABLE>

Thanks for posting that Art.

Seems like Shu and Glidden were a match made in heaven. I am betting that sponsors had a large influence on him taking a hike. Maybe NHRA can give him a job tearing stubs at the gate!!

Go get em Shaun!! At least now you have a fair chance.

Thanks for the email post Art.I had a feeling something like that was going on.It seemed like shaun didnt stand a chance in that car as soon as he got the job.the whole situation didnt seem legite.Shauns car was just quick enough to not make the field but look like Bob was trying to do his job,(fishy).then it makes the field and doesnt get down the track in the first round.Bob might have had a good engine program but shitty people will never make a good team.

GO GET EM SHAUN.EVERYBODY"S ROUTING FOR YOU!!!!!

Nothing. I was just stating that there is more to a team than one person. I dont think things are going to magically turn around by replacing one guy. I would love for Shaun to go out and dominate, but his teammate isn't and neither are any of the Dodges. Hopefully this will be a big stepping stone for that team.
