Default ek headlight adjustment

My headlights are blinding people. I need to adjust my headlights and point them lower. How do you do a vertical adjustment on these headlights? I have been messing with those little gear things using a phillips screwdriver, but I dont know what they do as I dont see a difference when I turn the gears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the gear on each headlight is the way to do it I think. just wd-40 them first and keep cranking, you have to turn it a lot to make a difference from what I remember

The proper way to do it is get on a level surface (so both headlights are on the same plane). Using a level on the upper support should give you an idea. Along with that level surface you need a wall that is at a 90 degree angle to the ground that is level. Once you get that set up you can see the beam pattern on the wall. Adjust using the screws on the headlight accordingly. There is an exact diagram for the adjustment (I think its in the Helms or the Haynes manual). Good luck...

When you turn the gear it turns another gear. If the two gears aren't turning each other then it'll do nothing. I found this very irritating because they are so poorly made and require you to turn it a lot of times for the light to even move.
