My return line is cracked at the tank.. where the rubber line connects to the line that goes into the car.

I have the rubber line on about 3/4", the crack is about another 1" upwards.. Could i just clean the line, and slide the rubber line up furthur?

should work, just make sure the clamp is tight. Check for leaks when you start it.

 

yes you can do that, i had the same problem it rusted through. i just removed the rusty part and clamped to the good part farther up, you can use a longer rubber fuel hose for this as there is no real pressure in the line.
