Jeromie Hicks awarded WD-40 NHRA Crew Chief of the Race from the Moroso event
Congratulations Jeromie. The team has come a long way. See you out at Virginia.
JEROMIE HICKS NAMED WD-40 NHRA SPORT COMPACT CREW CHIEF OF THE RACE AT THE NITTO NHRA SPORT COMPACT NATIONALS
GLENDORA, Calif. – Jeromie Hicks, the crew chief for Stephanie Eggum, has been named the first WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race after Eggum and her 2000 Honda Civic finished in the winner’s circle in the Hot Rod class at the Nitto NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in Jupiter, Fla.
The consistency of Eggum’s car throughout the weekend is what brought Hicks the honor. After having a broken axle following testing on Friday, Eggum was not able to run the first qualifying round. On the second qualifying round she went out and ran the No. 1 qualifying time, and Eggum never looked back. On the way to her first Wally, she set a national record for time, 8.50 seconds, and speed, 175.43 mph.
“It feels great to win the award,” said Hicks. “It took a lot of hard work during the winter and even up to the day of the race to get the car ready. We put a lot of time and effort into it. I wouldn’t have gotten the award without Stephanie doing her job. So, I have a big thank you to her.”
By winning the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race award, Hicks will be honored at the opening ceremonies, Sunday, April 23, of the NHRA Virginia Sport Compact Nationals. He will receive a special plaque and $250 for his efforts.
“I use WD-40 for many things, but the biggest thing I use it for is as an adhesive remover,” continued Hicks. “I use it to remove the old stickers on the paint without hurting the paint. Another thing I use it on is the MSD plug wires to remove oil and grease. I want to thank WD-40 for stepping up in the sport compact industry. The sport will definitely grow with the sponsors coming forward.”

Thanks guys, glad to see people are watching.
NOW, RACERS bring your crewchiefs to VA and try to take it away!
Hope to see a full field in all classes!!!!
Something I forgot to mention in my interview with NHRA was, When Stephanie was releaved of her driving duties and I QUIT the Topletz/Norwood Fiasco, Topletz said" Jeromie is not ready to be a crewchief" followed by "Bob is the best, I made my bet with bob, and that is what I intend to follow".
Well, everyone knows how Eggum Racing and I turned the WHOLE program around and came out swinging last season. 2006 is gonna be even better, maybe even some kung-fu type crap.
I do not recall seeing the Topletz/Norwood Celica compete since the day we left????????????? Damn that is too bad
That is one of the small fires that burned under my butt, to keep me pushing and learning to get this car where it is.
So I guess I have to say thank you to all the HATERS!
There were alot of people that I called asking questions along the way!! Thankyou to those people, you know who you are.
I hope everyone looks at our team and say to yourself, Wow they are really serious about racing, and they are not here to mess around.
Again, Thank you everybody and I look forward to seeing more crewchiefs get this award!
