Default noise comming from alternator/water pump area???

i have this weird noise comming from my car. i can hear it when im sitting in the drivers seat after the car is running for about 10-15 mins. its like a grinding/rattling noise on the drivers side. not very loud, but its loud enought to hear inside the car MORE than under the engine bay.

at first i though it was the alternator, but after some searching i have read that it could be the waterpump going bad...

you can also hear it comming from around the timingbelt cover too, but i cant determine if its the alternator or something around the waterpump...

there is no coolant leaking and the car doesnt overheat at all, any suggestions?

its a JDM engine, i changed the timing belt and checked the tensioner and took the waterpump out and we checked it over and it seemed to be in great working order.

i was going to change it, but the day we did it, i found out that they gave me the wrong 1 so we put the old 1 back in.

i only put 3200 km on it since i bought it ( u know those low milage JDM motors , sio im guessing it got like 80,000 km or something) but it did sit over a winter when it wasnt in my car...

My crx makes the same noise, exactly the same noise as you described, a sort of grinding rattling, metallic noise, seems to be coming from the area of the alternator and water pump. The only difference is, I only hear it when im driving, worse if i but my foot down more on the gas at low revs and build up speed, if anybody can tell me what this is, please let me know your sugestions

ko i was taking as listen yesterday and it seems to do it more when i turn the wheels when im stopped, i think its actually my water pump going or starting to. i never used it in over a year and a half and it just sat around in our building cause the last car my b16 was in didnt have power steering. im gonna take the belt off the PS pump and let it run for a bit to see if i hear it then.

ill let u know what i find out
