ok i recently installed a b18c in to my eg . runs great but during the install a friend broke the knock sensor whick sucked but we siliconed it and put it in any way . and when all said and done i started it up and when i drove it down the street i threw code 23 knock sensor . no biggei ill just get a new one but i just figured out today vtec only engages when the cel is on . if i dont get on it and just cruise and the cel dosent pop on i wont get vtec but once the lite comes on it hits real hard ... i need help w/ this will a new knock senson help the problem?? thanks in advance.

 

when the knock sensor is "working" it seems as its not letting you hit vtec b/c its sensing a problem. So when the CEL is on, the sensor isnt working therefore letting u hit vtec. if ur motor is fine them just unplug the sensor from the harness for now

 

yea the motor is fine it has 35 k on it and i will do that but that wont throw a code if i just unplug it ? but i just sent me ecu to jonh at j-k tuning he is just gunna tune it to run w/.o a knock sensor
