Default 2003 Honda CRV EX 4WD (wife happened to put diesel in the car, need help to drain)

Was hoping someone caan help! My wife put diesel, by mistake, in a gas truck.
I know it has a drain but I am unsure of how to proceed and where the drain is on the bottom of the truck. I see a steel plate that seems to be around the one side of the tank but am unsure if I remove the connection if it starts draining or if the plug is underneath the plate?

Thanks for any help for the people on this forum. Right now it would cost almost $600.00 to tow it to a repair shop and have them repair and dispose the diesel. My wife is extremely upset and we have no other vehicle since we just moved to florida. I need to get this going since I hate to bother my neighbor to go and get milk for my 2 year old daughter.

Thanks and be safe!

Drained the tank at home. Inserted 4 1/2 gallons of gas and fuel injection cleaner & fuel system cleaner. Also replaced the 4 spark plugs and the car runs better than new. Thank u anyway for the help!

Thanks for thinking of me on this issue. It was kind of simple, not siphoning through gas tank though, but still needed to find the fuel pump and once found all was well.

Thanks again for responding to the post!

Thanks and be safe.

Shoot it saved me between $400 - $600, only spent $65 - $70 to fix it. While a local dealer wanted almost $800 and a local auto mechanic wanted $400 - $600.

Man these places are a ripoff. Just my opinion.

Yeah, for future reference, just disconnect one the line out from the pump under the car, drain the tank via the pump, fill with gas, and disconnect the return line at the same place, forcing gas through the system to clean out the diesel. I'd have a good fuel service cleaning done (snapon fuel care) to get rid of residue.
