I recently aquired a Carbing Plate (Aluminum) for being the test mule for the US models. For installation it requried that the black metal trim to be removed. Do other plates like the garage defend (carbon), etc. require this? Sorry I don't have a picture to describe what I'm talking about, but I'm sure anyone that has worked on one will know what I'm referring too.
Also I've noticed yesterday while driving (first day with it on) that my car experienced heat soak for the first time in a long time. I think I need a snorkel now with this plate having a hole for one...
ps-For the people that were waiting for the piece it will be available very soon...Also the Carbing Strut Bar will not have the master cylinder brace like the other models because of how our car has the freaking abs directly in front of it

The metal piece you mention is the upper bumper stiffener. Cooling plates usually replace it, otherwise there would be too much thickness there and affect hood fitment.
Take pics when you can, I want to see what it looks like.

I have a c/f one I just put on my g/f's car. I had it on mine, but it didnt match my c/f weave. Hers was perfect and yes the stiffner had to come off.

anyone know which snorkel will fit for this application? </TD></TR></TABLE>
Looks like you're going to have to do a bit of cutting no matter which one you go for... unless Carbing makes an intake that fits that hole. Be glad aluminum is easier to cut than CF.

yeah it kinda sucks because they made some sort of duct but it doesn't seem to be working...oh well...once the strut bar comes in i might just sell both of them
did you the remove the plastic thingy? ... in order to work properly, you gonna need to take out that plastic piece so the air would go onto the cut out part of the panel ...

what a night and day difference. car feels so much better now! thanks for the suggestion of removing the plastic piece underneath. i also put the rubber trim in the right way and it looks a lot better.
