d16a swap
i have a d15 in my car right now and my friend told me he could get me the d16a and i was wondering if i could use my stock motor mounts with that motor and if the d16a is a good motor or not..thanks
so evrything well match up perfect just basically taking mine out and putting that one in? and those are vtec to arent they? and if they are how can i get vtec to work since i dont have the vtec wire harness
d16z6 and d16y8 are vtec. im pretty sure there is no d16a thats vtec. i could be wrong. you most likely have an a6. you're gonna need to get a vtec ecu, if you've got a 93 civic it'll be the p28. then, youll need to run i believe two wires from the vtec solenoid to the proper pins on the ecu. search around theres plenty of information on that. might as well find out what motor it is first.
alright thanks for your help ill find out what motor it is and then go from there he just told me d16a.. but yea mine is a 93 but thats all i would really to do for the vtec?

You're so yummy I could just eat you up!
I didn't say you didn't know anything about Hondas, I just said it might be wise to look up a bit more information on this particular motor that you're trying to install.

1) No. He is my e-thug. I own him.
2) He's not really e-thugging, because he knows exactly what he is swapping. A D16a.
Wait a second, there is no D16A. Okay I am a liar. Seriously though, Pick a number, any number, as long as its 1, 3, 6, 8 or 9.
Slap it after that cute lil d16a thing you've got going on, and you've got yourself a legitimate honda engine code.
