s300 has almost like a reverse chip "footprint" or socket, instead of the pins going down, they have all the pins facing up, adn the s300 slides onto that instead of the chip pressing into the socket, your ecu will need a tiny bit of work

yea, that much i know. Its not the hardware part that confuses me. I was just wondering that if i get a hondata s300 system for an obd1 ecu, if i can only tune/datalog with thier program (Smanager) or if i would be able to do it with crome or something similar.

Hondata is much more complicated and technical then crome. i dont recommend trying to
