Default Is it critical to grease axle splines before installing ??? (GSR)

I just changed both my axles on my GSR, I greased bothe outboard splines, but didn't grease the inboard sides. I cleaned them well and put a very light coat of WD40 to clean, but wiped it off. Will this cause problems???? Should I take the axles back out and grease??? Any Help/Insight appreciated. Thank You!

No need to bother. The inboard splines are lubricated by the transmission oil.

What about the driver side splines where the intermediate shaft goes into the outer drive shaft???

A little bit is fine just to help it slide down easier. A light coating of motor oil works just fine too if you don't want the grease all over the place.
