Default Why not to sell your modded S2000 on ebay!

If you check my auction the is was sold the user maricel143. He never contacted me after the auction about payment or picking up the car. Needless to say it aggravated me beyond belief! I had some other interest in the car for the $26,000 that he bid. So, he pretty much cost me the sale.

But, the story gets better. I left him negative feedback the other day for not coming through on his end of the deal. Then yesterday I was just checking the listing again and it showed that he "sent payment" last Thursday. So, I was hopeful that something might still come of the deal. But, today I got on and he had left negative feedback saying that I was selling fake JDM parts, which is NOT the case. So, I have files a complaint with ebay and have notified him that if necessary I will take legal action to clear up the situation.

Any suggestions anyone?

Exactly why I never leave feedback first or sell/buy things on ebay.

Hey Nick,

sorry about what happened...yeah next time dont leave feedback until buyer has left feedback...also i dont think this is the best way to sell your car...I mean ebay will give you good exposure, although ebay also has ALOT of ******* that bid with no intentions of buying the item they are bidding on...

do you have posted in your local Auto Trader?
try that...and

https://honda-tech.com
http://www.s2ki.com
http://www.s2kca.com

you probably already have them posted in these but with patience I think it should sell with ease!...

good luck

Jakub

Yeah I know the pitfalls of ebay. I was just hoping that I could sell the car quickly and move on. Unforunately, that has been anything but the case. I am just mad that the guy is going to ruin my name when I did nothing wrong.

I know for a fact that you'd never use "fake" or "replica" parts on your car, first hand. You should really sell to markets that appreciates the time/effort/money into your car. eBay is not one of them.

well, worse comes to worse you just start over with ebay. make a new account and have a fresh start. it sucks, but at least your not a scam artist.

as for what dude did, that is beat. it was probably some 15 year old that got into an ebay account. i personally would sell a car on ebay as a last resort. im suprised your car won't sell on s2ki.

I know. I am irrate. Ebay just notified me that they are not going to remove the feedback. I don't get how I am going to clear this up if the guy won't contact me back? Talk about leaving a bad taste in your mouth.....

You should really stop using the Siebon hood and hardtop. Are those Rotas for wheels as well?

Nick, sorry for the hassle with Egay...but I'm looking at it as a cloud with a silver lining. Now, hopefully, the car will stay in your possession a wee bit longer. I'll get to see it out and about at midwest shows, and you never know, maybe you'll go through another iteration of mods for the car.

--OR--

You'll decide to part the car, and I will be the metaphoric vulture circling the car and its parts.

I'm curious as to how you plan on taking legal action against this guy? Once you find a lawyer that will take your case, give me his contact information.

Ebay does suck. There's a lot of websites out there with stories such as yours. I'd Google it and read up on your options. Good Luck!!!

The only reason I would take legal action is because one of my friends is a lawyer and would probably write a nice little letter for free. But, I don't see that happening since I think that the car will be sold to someone else.

Can't you reply to his feedback? It will still show negative but at least potential bidders will know the guy was at fault.

I have seen something recently where there is an independent company that mediates feedback disputes. If the buyer does not reply the feedback will be removed. It won't help the sale but it will fix your feedback.
