D16z6 Tranny
Im planning to buy a d16z6 tranny. I was wondering, if there is anyway I can tell if it's a real d16z6 tranny. I heard that all d16 tranny have the s20 on them. So how can you tell them apart? And last question. I have a 99 ek. I was wondering if there will be any problems swaping a 0bd1 tranny into a obd2 car and engine? Thanks for your help.
all say S20 on the serial tag, but that means nothing. look on the passenger side of it by the drain plug in a circle it will say P20/B000 if its a z6 tranny. if it says P20/A000 it is not.
This site has a lot of info on the difference in the trany's http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.html You want one from an Si obviously also there is absolutly no difference from obd1 - obd2 tranny wise cept the year it was manufactured.
thnks for the plug, need to update it though......
