missing/studdering help. d16y8 with y7 dizzy. running obd1.

missing/studdering help. d16y8 with y7 dizzy. running obd1.
d16y8 motor running the y7 dizzy.
right now im running a obd1 ecu thats not chipped for vtec.
could this be the cause of my studder/missing problem when i give it a little gas?
i plan to get the ecu chipped for vtec asap.
do i need to run a vtec dizzy to make this car idle right?
could this be a vac leak? i have perfect vac on my boost gauge (turbo car)
