Default sunoco vs VP race fuel

ok heres the deal..

I used to run VP C16 in my car but no local place near me carries it anylonger..they all went to sunoco.well I know the Specific Gravity is lower on the sunoco and I will have to add fuel on my cal (map) but whats got my attention is the R.V.P. (reid vapor pressure)..C16 is 1.85 and sunoco maximal (116) is 6.0..and according to a site I found it says this..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Reid Vapor Pressure RVP:
The pressure of the fuel. The tendency of the gasoline to evaporate. Too high of a RVP may cause the fuel to boil or evaporate in the pump, lines or carburetor at a given temperature which can lead to "vapor lock". Too low of a RVP and the fuel will not vaporize and could cause difficulty starting the engine when cold. Most Racing Fuels have an RVP in the range of 5 to 7. </TD></TR></TABLE>

so this leads me to belive that C16 sucks to get the car started but sunoco maximal could have fuel loss in the lines and pump which is kinda scary to me..

can any people that have run sunoco chime in and post your thought on this fuel? Iam thinking of just buying 54 gallon drums of VP and having it shipped in..but if Iam just looking at the sunoco fuel in the wrong way I will use it and hope for the best..

fuel info can be found here.

Higher RVP due to lower specific gravity in the Sunoco fuel perhaps? I don't like the looks of that Sunoco Maximal. It appears that it's aimed towards low pressure (Carb) fuel systems where as C16 is EFI friendly. If you do switch let us know how much fuel you had to compensate for the specific gravity change or better yet, how it affected your A/F. .035 doesn't seem like a big difference but, I'm curious to see the change.

ok I have spoke with sevral people about sunoco fuels..here is most of what I have heard..

(1) It will cause blown head gaskets

(2) just need to add fuel

(3) its a closed fuel system..it wont evap intill the injectors open so you just need more fuel

so from the looks of it aslong as a good clean A/F is tuned in with this fuel it will be fine..I take it the head gasket comment was because someone tuned for C16 and switched to maximal without tuning and ran lean..Iam still trying to find out more info and I will post back as I find more out.
