how can i make my car shift at 8k

 

why would you want to shift at 8k? if your motor is stock i.e. no head work, or at least rods then it wont last long nor will it be making any power there.

Theres a lot more to do than just chip it....if thats all u had in mind...
start with the motor and get new valve springs and retainers...new stock ones should be fine with ur setup.
While you have the head off...throw a cam and cam gears in it so that u can get that full power of everything.
With that said...if u have a d series the redline is going to be 7200...so u will need a new ecu!!

mine goes to 8500, it mostly has to do with the fact it has jdm parts, not that I planned it out and carefully researched parts and figured whats best for me, no mainly its the JDM parts.

 

your power curve has to be able to get to 8k to shift at it. usually with a stock B16 around 7800 is when the power band reaches peak torque. for the c5- 8-8.5k if i remember right. but whatever....shifiting at 8k throws the car around alot better have a good head...

judging by his avatar, its a sohc motor.

 

keep it at 7200 with the d series if its not built. or you will be on your chevrolegs in no time

 

but my question is i put a msd on my car the 6 series and i sted on the gas to hear it redlining and it when up to like 78k why is that

 

Learn to use punctuation. I have no f*cking clue what you even just asked. Your MSD has nothing to do with your rev limit.

 

ok i was racing a m3 and he redlined it so i did it too and insted of redlining at 72k it when to like 78k thats what i mean

wait a minute, you redlined your car at 78000 rpm? do you have a turbine engine in your car?

in order to make your car redline at 8000 rpm, you need to save about $5000 and buy a jg built all motor long block. then pay $1000 to have it swapped into your car, and another $1000 to get it tuned. then you wont have to worry about blowing your car up when you go that high.
