Default sohc tranny question (help)?

Im in the process of building up my d16 EX vtec engine. Not sure if I want to boost it go n/a with it. My question is I bought the d16 w/ out a tranny. So what is the best sohc tranny honda offers? do any of the jdm sohc trannys come with lsd? I was told the jdm d15b vtec tranny is the best one (and came with lsd) but I cant seem to find it. Also my friend told me that the 92-00 EX/92-95 Si trannys were the ones to go with. I have a extra CX tranny laying around in my garage but dont want to install that or is the cx tranny just as good?

Some of the jdm d15b vtec trannies did come with lsd. Hard as hell to find though.

CX tranny is about the longest gearing possible. If you can find and have the money for the oem lsd tranny, get it, otherwise pick up the tranny off a d16z6.

the cx tranny isn't just as good. go with an s20 trans (92-95 preferably) as opposed to the cx/vx/dx p20 . the first ones (fifth gen) were made with aluminum shift forks as opposed to the later steel forks. aluminum breaks as opposed to steel bending and messing everything up.

you got that all wrong, well, half wrong. all 92-95 Dseries trannies are P20, the ex/si are P20/B00 all the rest are P20/A00. the P20/A00 has a few differant gear sets avail. the cx/vx being the longest gears, and the lx/dx being a little better. the P20/B00 also has a few differances between them, 5th gear in the HB si was .750 compared to all others being .702. the JDM D15b vtec tranny is P20/B00 as well, and comes w/ (supposedlly) even shorter gears w/ same final drive but is avail w/ LSD. if you really want LSD, find a JDM D15b vtec tranny and use the LSD from it in a USDM tranny of your choice (92-99 si being the best)

your 1/2 wrong also.........

92-95 Civic trannys are S20, the casting code is P20.

D15B VTEC (VTi) has same gearing as Sol/HB Si, just drove a RHD Transtop Sol yesterday.
