i bought a jdm dohc zc swap and i put it in an 89 crx hf.. everything is wired up right and i have a pm7 ecu.. but all it does is turn over.. like it wants 2 start but its not firing.. iv rechecked my wiring and changed the ecu from a pgy 2 pm7 and the results are the same and im runnin out of ideas.. its getting gas and compression just no fire.. what do u guys think?

 

you rewired it for the external cam sensor?

yea but the guys that put it in build racecars and they had 1 of their ppl rewire it.. so yea.. i was thinkin maybe the ignition coil but idk how 2 find 1 for that dizzy unless a usdm 1 would work

 

try switching the 2 white wires at the distributor

 

some1 told me that b4 and we tried it and it still dent work.. i can double check tho

 

I had to turn mine over for about 5 minutes before it finally fired and roared to life, just that first time. i had no idea why, because after that initial start, it fired right up and has been doing so promptly for years now.

 

well iv switched the wires again and tried it that way.. still the same... its not getting any spark 2 the spark plugs at all

 

do you have spark plug wires connected right - they are not the same as DX or Si

 

check injectors, i know it might sound stupid but i got my dohc from hmo and the injectors were ****.

 

the injectors are good.. its getting gas but no fire 2 the spark plugs... like its not comin out ofthe dizzy.. i was thinkin ignition coil or something but im just trying 2 figure out... its gettin fuel and everything and it wants 2 start like amofo but its not

change the cap and rotor, while your at it change the plugs and wires.

the cap could be carbon cracked from hell, or the pin inside the cap could be broken off like mine was

 

MAIN RELAY....My friend sold his car over this only to find out it was something as simple as that

It could be your dizzy, is there anyway you can try another dizzy? Alot of those ZC distributors have given me problems in the past.

 

check the main relay and all teh grounds

 

the grounds are fine iv triple checked those... and i was thinkin it was the dizzy but will a usdm work?

 

a dizzy from an 87 to 89 integra is what you will have to buy for your zc. also try runnig an external coil.

 

yea but i have the pm7... thats 4 the vacuum advance tho i do have an 86 pg7 but wouldnt i have 2 change some things around?
