Default b16 with gsr head??? what happens???

I ran across this b16 that has a gsr head. is a bad thing, or is this a good thing. what does this do to my compression and what does this do the rest of the motor. can i use a b16 distributor on a gsr head? help me?

It lowers your compression slightly.

Yes you can use a b16 dist.

i dont know the specifics, but to the best of my knowledge having a gsr head on a b16 bottom end isn't necessarily bad for the engine at all. it should work no problem, you'll just have a slightly lower compression ratio i think. what happens is the motor runs fine if the head was put on correctly.

so i could run a 2 ply head gasket to make the ratio higher. i get this and i get an ls tranny for 650 so im not comlaining. the rest of the money will go to rebuilding it, i really want the individual throttle bodies, and some high comp pistons. any one know where i can score a ctr tranny for not so much? or better yet maybe i could spend some money on the tranny and get it rebuilt with those fangled spoon gears and that there lsd. it would work right?
