Any dealers/salespeople that can answer a few questions?
Ok, I went to my local honda dealership #1 on 2/6/06. There was quite a waiting list for the Si, but I put $500 down to get my name on the list. That same day, I went to local dealership #2, and they told me I could have the car in 8-10 weeks.
I put $1000 deposit at dealership #2, after calling dealership #1 telling them I didn't want to wait 6+ months. Dealership #1 refunded the deposit.
Now, supposedly dealership #2 placed the order the very next week for my Taffeta White Si With Navi.
Since dealership #2 has terrible customer service, and no one calls or returns my calls when I leave messages, I went into the dealership last week. The sales person that I've been dealing with went in back and checked a computer while I waited.
He said he didn't see anything in the system about my car.
What does this mean? Does this mean my car hasn't been built? hasn't been ordered? or just hasn't been shipped? What is he looking for in the system? Should I start to worry?
I've been on vacation this week, so I went to a dealership here in CT. The salesman had a GG Si in stock with no navi. I need navi. I want factory navi.
The CT salesman told me that dealership #2 is acting wierd and is surprised they don't return my calls. He also said that they aren't building any Si's with navi until JULY!
Is there any truth to this?
Should I just wait for the 2007 Si?
This whole experience is really making me not want to purchase this car anymore.

When I worked at a dealership they used to tell people that they weren't making the Si with navi yet... but they were people have them. We had people order Sis and pick them up next week. It totally depends on your location. I walked in and purchased mine off the lot... it had gotten there the day before and would have been gone if I waited but it had no owner when it arrived. Call around, if you really want the car you should be willing to drive 100 miles +.
Yea, there are 3 dealerships in my area. I'm going to expand my search throughout the state. There are a number of dealerships.
2 door civics or si's with navi's are not going to be built...i order these cars and everytime Honda turns down these orders....

When will they be building them? One dealer told me July, Honda Corporate said there was no shortages, now you make it sound like never.

Similar situation happened to me
Sadly... Honda corp can do NOTHING to help you
each dealer is an independant company privately owned
what they do is take you off the market
meaning... if you left your number at 10 dealers for Si's
and "whatever" honda says oh leave us a deposit and we'll get you that color you wanted with navi etc etc
now when the OTHERS call you back and tell u about an inbound car
you tell them... no thanks... i have a deposit on one
you later find out... the deposit dealer was jerking you around, only to remove you from the market and guaranty a sale "whenever" to you
numerous... its coming in's
Very sad that this is how they have to operate but shop around..
you'll find a GOOD dealer

Well, so far no other dealers have called me about a Taffeta with Navi available. It's all non-navi's with unwanted add-ons like 'heated leather seats' bleh.
Should I take my deposit back and try and find another dealer? One dealer I spoke with said there are no more more until model year 07.

No Honda Dealers, rare, will get SI's with Navi's or 2 Door Coupes. Yes, these allocations will not be built. You will rather be better off to go aftermarket for the GPS system.

The dealers will screw with you and sometimes hose you, but come on you want a needle in a haystack. Even where I live in Lexington, KY the Si is a hot car. Then you have to have Taffeta and navi. Either be prepared to wait a LONG time or be a little flexible in what you will take.
wwo this is all really scaring me i feel that i wont even be able to get "it" even without the navi seems as if when reading all of this that dealers dont even want to sell the car!? do you guys think that i would really be able to get one by Sep 06?
That's just why I hate dealers. I have given up buying a new vehicle and prefer to buy used from a private party, or only deal with dealers that have a no-haggle policy.
Then again, being in SoCal, we have 100's of dealers to choose from.

All dealers are allocated 1 navi and 2 non navi si's a month
as per the honda corporate number and the 50 dealers i have spoken to
now.. if that dealer decides to take ORDERs..... OR sell to the highest bidder when they arrive that is their choice
usualy if they sell them at sticker your name is on a list
they call number one... if they pass it goes to 2 than 3 etc etc
and at that point you decide if your willing to accept the color which is inbound

The guys I know well at a Honda store DONT want to sell the Si. They say its a pain the rear. They get bunches of young guys with no credit and less cash that all want navi or Mugen parts or some silly ****. Even in great big Lexington, KY the Honda store sells 150-200 cars a month, most of those are Accords and non-Si Civics with some vans and SUV's thrown in for good measure. What would you worry about more, the three Si's you are selling this month or the 100 Accords?
If you really want this car the way you want it and that way only, just wait a while. Go back in January when the wether is cold and some Si's are starting to sit around, then a dealer will work with you.
