ok so everybody says get a da hood latch and cable, so i went to the junkyard today and found one, and it looks the same as the jdm one in got now

do i just need the longer cable, or what


my hood closes and latches now with the jdm itr latch, iv got like a 2 foot length hanging out the bottom so i can pop it

so do i just need the longer cable with my oem jdm itr latch

 

i used a DA hood latch and cable and it worked great.

 

did yours have the cable coming out the left side like the jdm one


i think im just gonna go back and get the whole thing anyway

 

I noticed on RPRacings car when he was down here, he fabbed up something so that he did use the stock cable IIRC. It went under the strut tower bar and right to the throttle body. Maybe he'll chime in with some pics.

the da hood latch and cable are the EXACT same as the jdm ITR ones. mine bolted up and was the right length and everything.

 

I used DA cable and it doesn't open when I pull the release lever. I have to pull the lever out and then reach up with a finger and grab the actual cable and tug it. Hmm, wonder why mine does that...? I asked around and heard to use an EG cable.

And the actual latch I just flipped mine 180 degrees, bent the lever and it works fine. Just how I did it. Either way it's nice to know you have this dilemma with a JDM front isn't it
