another tranny question. not grind, but "click" into 3rd.
anyone get a bit of a "click" when you shift into 3rd? its not a grind, but its like its stuck and then something hits and it goes into gear. it happens mostly when i shift at low rpms, if i shift from 2nd to 3rd at around 5k or just moderately aggressive, its not there and its seamless shifting. im typically rather gentle when shifting, i dont row the **** heavily.
i have an 02, and it was the same in the 03 that i test drove before i bought mine.

you really expect me to rev match every time i upshift into 3rd? im not talking about downshifting. just normal upshifting.
yeah, it feels like the synchros are making a full revolution before it catches and lets the gear in, and when it does, its a bit of a smack, or tap.

I'd check it, and I'd recommend a catch can. The S sucks a lot of oil through the PCV tube. Don't worry, the list gets longer. Tell me when you've had enough.

is that why i hear about some f20c having an abnormal consumption of oil? suppose it makes sense... a lot of race cars have that issue too.

Usually you'd find a bit of oil in that pocket before the runner #1 in the intake manifold, right behind the throttle body. It's enough to make me worry, so I think a catch can is a good investment for long terms performance. Burn enough oil in the cylinder and it will hurt performance.
