Hey, i drive a 95 civic with a d15b7 in it and whenever i hit about 6,000 rpm's in 3rd gear my check engine light turns on and vtec shuts off. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be and how to fix it.

i have a d15b7 in my lx... its a non vtec motor... do you have a vtec head on it? redline is like 6500 or something, so maybe your fuel is being cut of by the computer. thats jsut my guess
