Hey guys, i am sorry if this topis has been covered before but the search function has been down for a while. I have a couple of wheel questions that i hope people will be able to answer for me.
1. Does anyone here run SSR type C on their Rs? I think they are just rebadged Advan RGs.....is this correct? Are these forged rims?
2. Would a 15 x 6.5 with a +48 offset work on the ITR with spoon calipers?
Thanks.

My track wheels are indeed SSR Type C's.
Mine are 15x7 +38. I have never been able to find this in any catalogue anywhere. Perhaps they were made specifically for the World Challenge series, since they came off of a DC2 ITR that was in that series.
The Type C's are a hybrid process manufacture, just like the USDM SSR Competitions are.
The Advan is a cast wheel made by Yokohama Tyre. As far as I know Speed Star (SSR) makes its own wheels.
Sorry I can't be more help. I think, though, that in 15" you can do better than +48. +38 or even +35 would work.

Thanks for the response. What is "hybrid process manufature"? Somewhere in between cast and forged? So semi strong?

I noticed that you have a 96 ITR. Does 96 have the extra 5mm track that USDM ITRs got? Will that make a difference?
Thanks.

Yes.
You will find an occasional avid racer who has put a little bend in the lip of a USDM SSR Competition wheel.
On the other hand, we have actually broken a cold forged Spoon wheel on the track.
So...you can reach the point of diminishing returns. You could buy three sets of Kosei wheels for what one set of Spoons cost. I still own a set of 16x7 Spoon wheels, but they were an extraordinary buy six years ago. I'd never have paid what people pay for those things.
They are definitely super strong...but anything can break, given enough abuse.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Are you saying that US ITRs have a 5mm wider track than JDM ITRs???? I never heard that before if it is the case
