Default Gator axles (modified), any experiences?

Anyone have any experience with using Gator modified axles or any of their axles? Search is down right now so I can't ssearch. Should I go with DSS or Gator axles?

My setup is a 400+whp ls/vtec in an EF

Thanks

theres a guy selling the stage 3 modifieds for $430 US which is a significant difference from $850 US for the DSS and that is why I am asking. Seems like no one has problems with gators lately...

I now have over 65 passes and some daily driving with the gator HP's with no problems, then again I only broke about 3 stock axles. I know the gators are stronger than my gears. lol. They are equiped with a stock size outer spline. My best 60 foot is only a 1.58 so I guess im really not loading them as hard as everyone else in SFWD.

DSS if you are a Baller.

Gator HP's if you want to put all that money somewhere else into the car.

Either way, they are both great axles.

I'd say that maybe you should contact Gator.... Stan is just a reseller of Gator Racing Axles... just because you had a bad experience with a shop, doesn't mean the product is bad necessarily. Glenn is a good guy... maybe you should contact him directly before bashing a good product over a third party seller

I only had one problem with my Gator HP's axles. The right side popped out a little as I was doing my burn out and it sheared the end splines about 2" off the end. I called Stan and he shipped me new set over night to me at no charge. I haven't had any problem's with my Gator HP's 710whp and 486tq. Gator HP's gets my vote

DSS is better quality, but Gators are great for the price.

I run Gators unmodified with 550whp on slicks without a problem. Just preload and you should be fine.

i wouldnt recommend gator for all motor applications. i broke 5 gators until i finally got smart and bought DSSs and have had no problems.

the guys with the turbo cars seem to have good luck with gator axles. i wasnt impressed but, i have a set of brand new gator stage 3s w/hubs for sale.
