You have a bad seal...those tubes the spark plugs are in have upper and lower seals. They prevent the oil from the valve cover from spilling into the spark plug tube. The upper ones are pretty easy to change but the lower ones are a bit of a chore. I have to do this soon (maybe this weekend), try the upper ones first just to see if that takes care of your problem.

A P . I always wondered if backing off the valves, and having to re-set them was really necessary (cb7 link). (Just have to make sure everything is lined up before tightening the bolts). Not having to set the valves would have made it much easier for me, when I changed the o-rings. But there is one thing in the "oz" link I don't get. Why remove the distributor? I definitely didn't have to do it, but maybe some engines are different. Can you enlighten me?

backing off the valves makes it easier to reinstall the rocker arms supposedly

it takes off the stress on the valves when bolting the system back down.

also, once you think about it, most people havent done a valve adjustment on their car before, so its not only a nice thing to learn, but should be part of your normal tuneup

ive never looked at the oz link, but if its a cb7 then the only bolt you have to undo on the dizzy is the top one.

What I want to know is: Why remove the dizzy in the first place? I sure didn't. And if your valves are already set, it would be easier if you didn't have to back the valves off and then have to re-set them. It would take less time, that's for sure.

If you could change the 0-rings, without removing the dizzy, and without having to re-set the valves, it would make the job much easier, and quicker.
