My 2001 Accord gave me a P0135 check engine code, which is " a failure in the oxygen sensor heater circuit bank1 sensor1". The mechanic replaced the bad O2 sensor with a Bosch universal one. The check engine light went off for two days and then back on again and then on/off almost every 4 hours. The fuel efficiency also dropped from 24mpg to 20mpg. Is it possible that the quality of bosch part not good or my car has other problems? Will a Honda OE part fix this problem? Thanks for the help.

 

Universals suck!!! I know its a little cheaper, but then you have to wonder, did i hook it up right?
Check the wiring BEFORE the 02 sensor wire, sometimes those rip and make people think that its the 02 itself. Check for tears in the insulator, sometimes the wire will rub against a sharp metal object and finally tear a little+ some corrosion in the mix= that annoying check engine light.

Theres your problem right there. You need to use the Honda sensor.
You also need to have your alternator checked if the number 6 fuse in the drivers fuse box is blown (honda has an article in August 2005 service news about this)
