Default fuel surge tank legal in NHRA SFWD?

Im in the process of building my fuel system and was not sure if you could use this method to feed fuel instead of a sumping the fuel tank and be legal for SFWD?

It has been allowed.

The CFT Si has had a surge tank in it for 3 NHRA events w/ a firewall around it, as does our 240 in SRWD.

Hmmm, interesting. The rules clearly state:

Fuel System:
Fuel cell prohibited. OEM fuel tank mandatory. No other container, fuel cell, bottle, etc. may contain any type of fuel. See Section 4 and General Regulations 1:5.
