Default DIY - Red Out Taillights

Today I decided to red out my tail lights with some red Vinyl. I used Oracal 8300 series transparent vinyl in red, color code 031. This mod was relatively easy.

Materials Necessary:
-Razr Blade/Sissors
-Red Vinyl
-Heat Gun or Hair Dryer
-Spray Bottle
-Dish washing soap.
-Needle
-Credit Card / Squeege
-Time...
-Honda Accord

Start off by mixing two or three drops of dish washing soap and water in the spray bottle. Then cut the Vinyl to the shapes of the lights. I cut mine over the size of the white tail light area to allow me to have room to move the vinyl around and allow it to shrink down to fit the light with a smooth finish. Spray the vinyl and the area you are going to place the tint onto with the spray bottle. Place you vinyl on the spot and use either your hand or credit card or squeege to remove most of the air bubbles. Then use the heat gun to mold the vinyl into the shape of the headlights. Use the needle to remove air bubbles that will not come out.

It is illegal to not have the white light for reverse, but how are they going to be able to tell? I don't drive in reverse I was thinking about cutting a small circle just for the white light.

Use it at your own risk

Did you really prefer to have all Red tail lights or did you just not know that you can dremel out the orange part of the turn signal? Looks good overall. Good job.

I was looking for the all red taillight look because it looks so much cleaner.

Well, if that's the case then you won't be able to cut that portion out for the reverse light because then you'll throuw off the look. Go to autozone or something and get those flat driiving lights and stealth mount them in the rear under your bumper for reverse lights, you can now change the original reverse lights into rear fogs

I ordered my Oracal Vinyl from http://www.pacificcoastsignsup...t.htm

I only used 2ft but ordered 4 yards of 15" wide Vinyl. doh! Was planning on ordered some rice lights (Altezzas) and redding those out. Looks so badass, can be seen here http://www.buddyclub2.com/body...x.htm

I can send you some if you would like, or you can order from the site.

Do they have a light black vinyl? I have L.E.D.s and I think it would be cool if I could do that with like a color that won't completely block out the light, but darken the entire thing. Kinda like a light tint or something. Could you do it with actual tint?
