Good deal?
Hi, my friend wants to sell me his Eibach pro-kit springs to me. He said it has been on his 94 accord (same as mine) for 2.5 year with 20k on it. Is it a good deal to get it for 80 bucks? I heard that springs normally won't die. So I supposed it is okay to buy used springs with new shocks to complete my suspension upgrades, right? Thanks for any advices.
Well, along years and miles, springs will get worn out. I don't know about the price, but I got a set of brand new coil overs for a 100 bucks from Dropzone.
See if he takes some 20 bucks off from the price.

So..based on the data I have( 20k and 2.5 years), is it enough to worn out the springs? Besides, how can I check the springs to see if it is worn or not?

spring could be SAG overtime, the good thing is eibach have a million miles warranty. If anything happen to the spring, just bring it back, they will replace them
another thing is, eibach's spring is very very high in quality, don't worry too much about sagging if the installtion is done good. the easiest way to sag a perfectly good spring is to install them wrong, for example, if you have one side not sitting correctly, the weight of the car will have more pressure on the incorrected side.
just measure up and see the overall length, try compress it with your hands and see if one side sag more. unless you have testing equipment, it's not going to easy to check.
80 is a fair deal, they go for 100 on ebay all the time.
remember a used good quality spring is better than cheap stuff brand new

i also think buying a used good quality spring is better than cheap crap on the market.
I know it is recommended to use after market shock with the lower spring. But is it alright to use the stock shocks( kinda low in cah)?Any affect on ride quality and life of the stock shocks and the springs? Thanks.

stock shocks are not made for lowering springs...they are not capable of that...if you cut your bump stops in half and leave them on there...they may have a less chance of busting but your gonna have to end up buying new shocks anyways because like I said the OEM shocks arent made to handle that kind of stuff..they are made for stock heighth....good luck

oh and if you do leave your stock shocks on there...its gonna be bouncy..I rode around with lowering springs on my car and stock shocks for 4 months...its just really uncomfortable and not really safe because when you hit a huge bump your tires will come off the ground sometimes...get some KYB AGX I love those shocks
good luck man

Eibach does have a million mile warranty, BUT it is only valid for the life of the vehicle they are originally installed on AND if owned by the one who had them installed. (Yes, I read the mice type in contracts).
Typically I wouldn't worry aout a set of Eibachs with 20K or so. They will have a lot of life left in them. $80 is actually a really good price, since new typically run $200+. You'll probably get about $100 installation, and while you've got everything off of there, I'd go ahead and replace the struts all the way around.
The best part about the Pro-Kit is that there is no special equiptment that you have to add to the job, unlike the sport-line. Just remember that the warranty is not transferrable. But is the million mile warranty worth 3x or more the price? as iam7head says theyare VERY high quality.
If it was me, I'd probably go for the used!

alright guys, I am going for these springs. But what kinds of shocks work best with pro-kit? Lower94accord suggested me KYB-AGX, but I personally thinking of koni yellow( since my friend has it and ride quality is pretty good). Any suggestion. Thanks.
it depends on your budget and goals. if you don't need externally adjustable struts tokico blues or koni reds would work and be fairly inexpensive...for ext. adjustables agx, illuminas, and yellows are all solid performers.
Oh, my friend said he sold the springs to others already. Anyway I found this on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...QQcmdZViewItem. What do you all think? I also thinking of a combination of Tein S tech with kyb gr2. Both set up are about the same price, which one do you guys think is better. Thanks.

this is the link. A set of tokico Hp shocks with tokico springs. Total is 360 with ship

with S.Tech you dont have to get new dampers, unless your stock ones need replacing..and expletive what every says about NO lowering spring can be used with sotck dampers, though it is better to upgrade to more perforamnce oriented dampers, there r a few on the market that has been designed and engineered to be used with stock dampers...you can even call and ask tein...the S.Techs r designed to be used with stock dampers with a modest drop and a minimal increase in spring rate
